Reminiscing over those cold days when the Mirau EP “To An End” warmed our ears like down hood conjures up memories of how Tim Keiling aka Erdbeerschnitzel shook his sample hat, pulled out a ray of canalized, homogeneous heat and pointed it at the dancefloor. Following more such dazzling tracks, brought into circulation via several different platforms, the Erdbeerschnitzel Debut Album is now approaching and will be released on Mirau at the end of the year. The digital single “Through the Night” sets the groove in advance. At its first beats, we are back in the embrace of those fluffy sample breezes and soulful vocal fragments. The bass swings throughout the arrangement, taking a stumble here and there, funking and hiccupping in the pressure of the house beat’s surface. There’s an urge to surrender, toppling and stomping, to the benevolent pump of this music.“Confused” is the second track in this parcel. Along comes a rattling, dense force; from the depths, low-pitched sounds and textures shuffle to the surface, forming a billowing monster of passion that can break hearts. Forgiving sunrays peer through a crack in the club door, venturing out onto the dance floor. We are confused, and happy. It’s daytime again.
